suffix English word (Z13254)

Odd… This has had eleven connected tests for some time and I added a twelfth today. (As it happens, the function is reused by composition in other functions, so it is tested there as well.) Nice report, though. Thanks! GrounderUK (talk) 18:12, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ah, I see the latest dump was on February 20th, just before I connected 10 and 11. 👍 GrounderUK (talk) 20:04, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Lingering tests

While checking the data, I found the following irregularities. The functions haven't been edited recently, so I think the issues are still present.

Breton plural -ioù and soft mutation (Z11786) was duplicated from Breton plural in -où and soft mutation (Z11637), but it still seems (incorrectly?) linked to test "bag" converts to "vagoù" (Z11638). I think this is reflected when trying to add a test; both functions' implementations are listed on the right.

A similar situation with German noun, -(e)n/-innen declension (Z11722). Test cases Hase → Hasen (Z11734), Bauer → Bauern (Z11735), Mensch → Menschen (Z11736), Herz → Herzen (Z11737) and Leben → Leben (Z11769) were moved to a different function, but still linger. @Azertus: Hmm, that is odd. It seems like the association isn't correctly updated. I'll have a poke at the relevant code. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 14:09, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've written a patch which might fix things; let's see. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 14:19, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Adding language statistics

@Azertus Thank you for setting up this page. I think it is great if the dump of Wikifunctions will be used for some use cases. What do you think about adding language statistics at a subpage of this page It is maybe relevant to look at the description and label of a function again after someone edited a function. I think it would be great if many functions have a description and title in as many different languages as possible. One goal of Wikifunctions is the approach of being a multilingual project. On Sunday I will talk about that at WikiMentor Africa. I want to focus on showing how to add translations for function names and descriptions. Before the event I want to try to analyze the dump and extract the translations per language. I am not sure if it will be sucessful but I want to try it. Ideas for tools addressing quality appreciated

Hey all,

I've started an early draft of an epic grab-bag task to try to think up various improvements we in the development team could make to help the Wikifunctions community track down Functions/etc. that need improving. I've tried to think up the top-level few areas that seem most obviously pressing to me, but I'd hugely appreciate your thoughts on where this would be most valuable. Suggestions hugely welcome.
